«Поэтический вечер посвященный Джорджу Гордону Байрону»

Цели и задачи мероприятия: совершенствовать практические навыки владения лексическим материалом и грамматическими структурами.

Оформление: презентация со слайдами, музыка известных композиторов.

Учитель. Вступительное слово (приветствие на русском и английском языках):

Погасло дневное светило;

На море синее вечерний пал туман.

Шуми, шуми, послушное ветрило,

Волнуйся подо мной, угрюмый океан.

(Туманное утро в Италии)

Белеет парус одинокий

В тумане моря голубом!

Что ищет он в стране далекой?

Что кинул он в краю родном?...

(Среди волн)

Не слышно на палубах песен,

Эгейские волны шумят…

Нам берег и душен, и тесен;

Суровые стражи не спят…

Раскинулось море широко,

Теряются волны вдали…

Отсюда уйдем мы далеко,

Подальше от грешной земли.

Ученик (1). Биография Байрона.

On the 27-th of February, 1812, the House of Lords of the British Parliament was shocked. A young aristocrat in his first speech in the House of Lords accused the government of exploiting the workers.

The orator was George Gordon Byron.

Byron was born in London on the 22 of January, 1788 in an old aristocratic family. His mother came

from a rich Scottish family. His father was a poor army officer spent his wife's money and died when the

-to boy was three years old. George spent his childhood in Scotland. There he went to his grammar school. He liked history and read much about Rome, Greece and Turkey. He liked sports and trained every day. He could ride a horse very well and was a champion swimmer, a boxer and took part in athletic activities.

Scotland became his motherland. He loved its beautiful nature, the rocky coast mountains of the country. His love of his country was reflected in many of his poems.

In 1798 Byron's uncle died and the boy got the title of lord and the family estate, Newstead Abbey in Nottinghamshire. The family went to live there.

George was sent to Harrow school where boys of aristocratic families got their education. His first days at school were unhappy as he was lame the children laughed at him. But soon they liked him because he read much and knew many interesting facts from history.

At 17 Byron entered Cambridge University and his literary career began. In 1808 Byron graduated from the University and went travelling.
