Цели урока:

Образовательная цель: Организовать деятельность обучающихся по развитию навыков говорения (монологической и диалогической речи), активизировать изученные речевые образцы, совершенствовать навыки письма, монологической и диалогической речи, аудирования.

Воспитательная цель: Способствовать овладению необходимыми навыками самостоятельной учебной деятельности, способствовать развитию культуры взаимоотношений, содействовать развитию интереса к изучению английского языка, содействовать повышению уровня мотивации через игровые и интерактивные технологии; повторить правила противопожарной безопасности.

Развивающая цель: Обеспечить условия для развития умений грамотно, четко и точно выражать свои мысли, развитие памяти, внимания, сообразительности, быстроты мышления; развитие кругозора учащихся.

Коммуникативная цель: Формулировка собственного мнения и позиции, способность аргументировать и координировать её с позициями партнёров; адекватно использовать речевые средства для решения различных коммуникативных задач.

Планируемые результаты и формируемые универсальные учебные действия:

- личностные: формирование ответственного отношения к учению, готовности к саморазвитию и самообразованию; формирование коммуникативной компетентности в общении и сотрудничестве со сверстниками.

- метапредметные: умение строить логические рассуждения, умозаключения, уметь адекватно и осознано использовать речевые средства в соответствии с задачей коммуникации.

- предметные: развивать уменияговорения , аудирования, систематизировать знания и на их основе составлять собственное монологическое высказывание.

1.Подготовительная часть урока

1. Приветствие

T. Good morning children! I'm glad to see you again. So, the bell has already rung. Let's begin our English lesson.

T. Yes, you are right. You shouldn't play with fire and make a fire because it is very dangerous.

T. And the topic of our today's lesson is "Fire Safety". And we will speak about this problem and at the end of the lesson we'll try to make Fire Safety Rules.

T. As far as know you have already communicated with different fire inspector. But today I propose you to meet an English fire inspector Mary.

F.I. Hello! My name is Mary. I am an English fire inspector. And I want you tell you about the word fire. There are many meanings of this word.

The first is uncontrolled burning. Flames and heat from something that is burning in an uncontrolled way.

An example. The building was badly damaged by fire.

The second is controlled burning. A small pile of burning wood, coal that you make in order to produce heat.

An example. We decided to build a fire.

The third is equipment for heating. A piece of equipment that uses electricity or gas to heat a room: an electric fire or a gas fire.

An example. There was an electric fire in the bedroom.

What are some types of fires in the house?

There are two types of fires in the house: controlled and uncontrolled

What is the fire department's phone number in your country?

What equipment do fire fighters need?

P. As far as I remember fire fighters need special clothes and a fire hose. It's a long thick rubber tube used for sending water onto a fire to stop it burning.

P. They also need a fire hydrant. It's a water pipe in a street from which water is taken to stop a fire.

What should you do if your clothes are on fire?

P. If your clothes are on fire - stop, drop, and roll until the fire is out. Shout for help, but don't run. Running makes fire burn faster.

Is it safe to play with matches?

P. No, it is not. It's not safe because it is very dangerous.

A fire started on September 2nd in the King's bakery in Pudding Lane near London Bridge. Fires were quite a common occurrence in those days. Indeed, when the Lord Mayor of London, Sir Thomas Bloodworth was woken up to be told about the fire, he replied "Pish! A woman might piss it out!" However that summer had been very hot and there had been no rain for weeks, so the wooden houses and buildings were tinder dry.

The fire soon took hold: 300 houses quickly collapsed and the strong east wind spread the flames further, jumping from house to house. The fire swept through the warren of streets lined with houses, the upper stories of which almost touched across the narrow winding lanes. Efforts to bring the fire under control by using buckets quickly failed. Panic began to spread through the city.

As the fire raged on, people tried to leave the city and poured down to the River Thames in an attempt to escape by boat.

Samuel Pepys and John Evelyn, the diarists, both gave dramatic, first-hand accounts of the next few days. Samuel Pepys, who was a clerk of the Privy Seal, hurried off to inform King Charles II. The King immediately ordered that all the houses in the path of the fire should be pulled down to create a 'fire-break'.

By the 4th September half of London was in flames. The King himself joined the fire fighters, passing buckets of water to them, but the fire raged on.

As a last resort gunpowder was used to blow up houses that lay in the path of the fire, and so create an even bigger fire-break, but the sound of the explosions started rumours that a French invasion was taking place…. even more panic!!

As refugees poured out of the city, St. Paul's Cathedral was caught in the flames. The acres of lead on the roof melted and poured down on to the street like a river, and the great cathedral collapsed. Luckily the Tower of London escaped the inferno, and eventually the fire was brought under control, and by the 6th September had been extinguished altogether.

Only one fifth of London was left standing! Virtually all the civic buildings had been destroyed as well as 13,000 private dwellings, but amazingly only six people had died.

Hundreds of thousands of people were left homeless. Eighty-nine parish churches, the Guildhall, numerous other public buildings, jails, markets and fifty-seven halls were now just burnt-out shells. The loss of property was estimated at £5 to £7 million. King Charles gave the fire fighters a generous purse of 100 guineas to share between them. Not for the last time would a nation honor its brave fire fighters.

In the immediate aftermath of the fire, a poor demented French watchmaker called (Lucky) Hubert, confessed to starting the fire deliberately: justice was swift and he was rapidly hanged. It was sometime later however that it was realized that he couldn't have started it, as he was not in England at the time!

Although the Great Fire was a catastrophe, it did cleanse the city. The overcrowded and disease ridden streets were destroyed and a new London emerged. A monument was erected in Pudding Lane on the spot where the fire began and can be seen today, where it is a reminder of those terrible days in September 1666.

Sir Christopher Wren was given the task of re-building London, and his masterpiece St. Paul's Cathedral was started in 1675 and completed in 1711. In memory of Sir Christopher there is an inscription in the Cathedral, which reads, "If you seek his monument, look round".

Wren also rebuilt 52 of the City churches, and his work turned the City of London into the city we know today.

T. Our next task is to make Fire Safety Rules. You have envelopes with the words. You should to put the words in the necessary order to make a rule. So let's start

Fire Safety Rules

1.) Don't play with matches and lighters. If you see matches or a lighter where you can reach them, don't touch them.

2.) When your parents change the time on your clocks for Daylight Savings, ask them to change your smoke alarm batteries. Give it fresh batteries and your smoke alarm will stay awake and watch for fire while you are sleeping.

3.) In case of fire: DON'T HIDE! You should NEVER hide in closets or under beds when there is a fire.

4.) To escape during a fire; Fall & Crawl. It is easier to breath in a fire if you stay low while getting out. Use the back of your hand to test if a door is hot before you open it. If it is hot, try to use another way out.

5.) If your clothes are on fire; Stop, Drop, and Roll until the fire is out. Shout for help, but don't run. Running makes fire burn faster.

6.) Have an escape plan and practice it with your family. Find two ways out of every room in case one way is blocked by fire or smoke.

7.) Choose a meeting place outside, such as a big tree or the end of the driveway, so you will know that everyone has gotten out safely.

8.) NEVER go back into a burning building for any reason. If someone is missing, tell the firefighters. They have the clothing and equipment to safely rescue people.

9.) Know your local emergency number. Put stickers and magnets with emergency numbers on your refrigerator and every telephone in the house.
